THE DRESS in cotton for Spring/Summer.
Made from men’s shirting fabric, THE DRESS has a bit of a masculine vibe but also exudes femininity! April also has created these chunky leather bracelets. They come in a variety of different colors, are easy to style, and add a bold punch of color. You know we love a statement piece!
Stop by Hitchcock Madrona on Saturday from 12 – 5 pm to meet April Pride. Champagne will be flowing!
Print and textile designer Charlotte Allen’s designs are something to behold. Boldly referencial, weaving dark motifs and sweeping femininity together to create images worthy of a frame and some serious real estate on the wall. Luckily for us, Charlotte’s designs are not limited to such a tragic fate. Instead, each design is printed on Italian Silk, or baby soft modal/cashmere blends. Whether it’s a night out on the town or a playful accent piece for your jeans and favorite sweater these scarves are sure to impress. Check out Klements UK below, and shop Charlotte’s designs in store and online through our Online Store.
The ‘Savages’ Print available in silk or modal/cashmere
‘The Orient (Light)’ and ‘The Orient (Dark)’ Prints: These prints are the same design, with inverse colors. The positive and negative space play creates two entirely different tones using identical imagery. The Orient (Dark) feels deeply galactic, while The Orient (Light) feels like a sandstorm of rich color.

There is nothing we love more than ingenuity in design, and our latest featured brand Orly Genger by Jaclyn Mayer fills that category to a tee. The Brainchaild of 1/2 of the line’s namesake, Jaclyn Mayer, OGJM is playful, sophisticated, and like nothing we’ve seen before. Jaclyn was already designing under her own name when she began using sraps from artist, Orly Genger’s beautiful woven sculptures. From there, the line took off with exciting collaborations with VPL and Mara Hoffman. See a few of Jaclyn’s designs from the Fall/Winter ’15 collection below, and in store along with other incredible sample and collaboration pieces through this Saturday, October 10th.
Muted tones and sophisticated pops of color wind their way throughout this season’s collections. As with most seasons in the OGJM Archives, the color combinations expertly walk the line between playful and luxe.
The Roxbury Necklace is a real standout in the collection. Architectural and modern, in classically rich tones the Roxbury is a light as air statement necklace for any outfit.
Whether you’re looking for a piece for an event, or just a feel good treat for yourself, stop by the store or email us: firstname.lastname@example.org for more pictures and pricing information. Orly Genger by Jaclyn Mayer will be featured through this Saturday, October 10th.
Today, I demonstrate a prime example of the power of accessorizing. You can spice up a drab t-shirt and jeans with a mere 75 accessories! Not only am I just wearing a t-shirt and jeans, the t-shirt is effectively wrinkled like I slept in it for several nights in a row (I didn’t, don’t worry). But, who will be able to focus on the wrinkles when I am wearing Lulu Frost’s Passages Necklace, Eddie Borgo’s Pierced Pearl Necklace, Vintage Native American Beads, and my Chanel Pearls?? HA! I have cleverly added the biggest distraction of all: the Fashion Turban.
Satin Turban by Jennifer Behr, queen of all things headdress
Moscot’s Lemtosh sunnies and a few Hitchcock Madrona textiles (cotton men’s shirting scarf, silk pochette) compliment this soft, blush Ampersand as Apostrophe Half Tote.
Now that it is officially August, we’re already working fall into our vocab and wardrobe. Keep your eyes peeled, as collections will be arriving in the coming weeks. Check out our Instagram and Youtube channel for daily and weekly updates!
For our last installment of bridal week we are going on a little impromptu trip…to Vegas! Your wedding your prerogative, right?? We wanted to redefine what it means to be a modern bride by pairing a traditional veil with our favorite vintage Levis. Whether you just can’t stand to wait any longer, or jeans and a white tee are the fanciest clothes you could ever want or need, Vegas isn’t for the faint of heart or those in doubt.

There is something so fun about the irreverence of a Vegas wedding. Las Vegas must be the only place in the US you can get married in a drive thru (or, by an Elvis impersonator). Traditions come in all shapes and sizes!

It’s your day! Who cares if the family is a little surprised?

Go for the dramatic earrings and necklace. More is more in the The Graceland Wedding Chapel and we say go full bling.
This must be my favorite necklace in the store right now. I am obsessed with it’s stylistic ambiguity. There is something very evocative of 1970’s Elvis within the color combination! Is it just me? Bonus! Bridal jewelry that can double as your something blue. Lasting, gorgeous, and a funky nod to tradition. Viva Las Vagas!
Every time I start discussing Ampersand as Apostrophe handbags with a client, passerby, barista really anyone who will listen. I find that my voice climbs a notch or two with excitement. Simply put, Ampersand as Apostrophe has made a loyal fan of this handbag lover. Designer, Creative Director, and Founder of AasA (as the fandom has affectionally abbreviated it) seamlessly navigates the line between fashion forward, simple, and classic in a way that I have yet to see at such an accessible price point with the quality of a few design houses I will refrain from naming.
Each bag is functional, structured, fun and comes with an incredible snap out clutch that is not only convenient but adorably sexy as well.
Often times, I find myself gravitating to features I never utilize; mirrors, lipstick pockets, built in key rings, you get the picture. This has not been the case for my AsasA bag. I spend most of my time running from the store to an event, or a styling gig and I have found myself snapping out my clutch so often I think it has become an involuntary action.
If you’re interested in seeing Jessica’s amazing work in for yourself, and for a chance to meet the designer in person, stop by the store this Saturday, April 18th between 1pm and 6pm for our Ampersand as Apostrophe Trunk Show.
Hope to see you there!
Join us this Saturday, April 18th 1pm-6pm for a Trunk Show featuring local handbag line, Ampersand As Apostrophe! Champagne and snacks will be served.
Can’t wait to see you all there!
If you’re anything like me, your Instagram feed is filled with fashion blogger, models, and other aspirational people that are more fascinating than who I goal myself to be like. That aside, sometimes their trend rub off on me and this fashion week was no exception. Fashionistas (I hate that word for the record) and style icons across the board seem to feel that wearing jackets as actual jackets instead of a shrug or shawl is passé. Not that I agree-sleeves and I generally get along, but I found myself becoming just another sheep in the herd. However, I accessorized in a way that most of them are not, with our newst fine jewelry line: Ginette NY. Sleek, sexy, and a little sweet the 18k rose gold collection we received left us blown away. A perpetual fan of letting my jewels do the talking, I suited up and hit the streets, well the alley behind our studio not quite NYC but far cooler in my opinion. Check out the awesome collection, and decide how you feel about sleeves as accessory.
Ginette Rose Gold Collar, Rose Gold Hoops, and Rose Gold and Diamond strip studs
Rose Gold rings by Ginette, FARIS, and Hitchcock Madrona. Black Gold Nico Ring by Selin Kent
Loren Stewarts XL Chain Bracelet, and my wide silver HM Bangle Cuff have yet to come off my arm. Capped off with my Ampersand as Apostrophe (removable) clutch in Buffalo Leather and I’m ready for front row…at the bar of my choosing.
Whether Fashion Week viewing, or strolling to your local dive these Ginette pieces are sure to make your cool, absolutely effortless. Throw in some leather accents, and your favorite pair of shades and you’re good to go.
Spring has sprung a little early here in Seattle, and unlike our friends on the East Coast (sorry, guys) I’m breaking out the beaded necklaces, camo hoodies, and my favorite vintage party dress to celebrate. What better place to shoot my “kitchen sink” OOTD than our brand new studio space? I honestly can’t think of one. Seeing as I’m unveiling the new studio space, I thought it might be a good time to also share our next online trunk show. As our lovely followers know, we took a team trip to Billings, Montana last November where we acquired several amazing vintage, Native American pieces that we haven’t been able to get enough of. Erica has been rocking her beads for years, and has shared her “love of the bead” with yours truly. Now, we’re bringing this love to you guys! Expect a video soon on the ups, downs, pros and cons (there are none, actually), of styling beads from day to night and everywhere in between. For now, I give you beads, a party dress, and playtime in the Hitchcock Madrona Studio.
I hope my peak at spring, has given you guys some color inspiration. Being the perpetual layer heavy lady that I am, I softened my heavy metal hardware with a centralized beaded statement. Balance between the two, no matter how heavy the statement is what I strive to be mindful of. Most of all, just remember: confidence is key and if you love it-wear it.
