Restocked! The Original HM Bangle Cuff

Posted by & filed under Gift Ideas, Hitchcock Madrona Signature, Just In, Signature Piece.

The Original HM Bangle Cuff is back by popular demand!!!  Available in sterling silver, as well as, yellow gold (pictured) and rose gold fill.  They are durable and easier to wear than a bangle bracelet (especially when you work at a computer all day!).  The hammered texture has a gentle sparkle which is so pretty!  Add to your existing bracelet stack or wear them alone, the bangle cuffs are a great way to mix metals.  My current favorite combo is two thick yellow gold and one thin silver.  It’s not too early to think about mom (hint, hint).  Purchase online at:

‘The Orient (Light)’ and ‘The Orient (Dark)’ Prints: These prints are the same design, with inverse colors. The positive and negative space play creates two entirely different tones using identical imagery. The Orient (Dark) feels deeply galactic, while The Orient (Light) feels like a sandstorm of rich color.

Trunk Show: Orly Genger by Jaclyn Mayer

Posted by & filed under Artist Profiles, Event, Just In, Obsession, Trunk Show, Uncategorized.

There is nothing we love more than ingenuity in design, and our latest featured brand Orly Genger by Jaclyn Mayer fills that category to a tee. The Brainchaild of 1/2 of the line’s namesake, Jaclyn Mayer, OGJM is playful, sophisticated, and like nothing we’ve seen before. Jaclyn was already designing under her own name when she began using sraps from artist, Orly Genger’s beautiful woven sculptures. From there, the line took off with exciting collaborations with VPL and Mara Hoffman. See a few of Jaclyn’s designs from the Fall/Winter ’15 collection below, and in store along with other incredible sample and collaboration pieces through this Saturday, October 10th.24

Muted tones and sophisticated pops of color wind their way throughout this season’s collections. As with most seasons in the OGJM Archives, the color combinations expertly walk the line between playful and luxe.

The Roxbury Necklace is a real standout in the collection. Architectural and modern, in classically rich tones the Roxbury is a light as air statement necklace for any outfit.

Broke Down: The Search for Fall

Posted by & filed under Dannijo, Hitchcock Madrona Signature, Inspiration, Just In, Kelly Christy, Klements, Lulu Frost, MOSCOT, OOTD, Pamela Love, Scarves, Travel, Xenia Mara, Yestadt Millinery.

Do you ever feel like you’re broken down on the side of the road, just waiting for someone to come along and tow you to safety? That is exactly how we feel waiting for Fall to come along. Enough with the babydoll dresses and billowy blouses. Well, we got impatient waiting for fall and decided to hit the road in search of patchwork, woolen layers, and the men’s coat of our dreams.

Scarves: Hitchcock Madrona; Sunglasses: MOSCOT

Chunky sweaters and oversized coats beg for a contrasting scarf and unexpected, exaggerated layers.

Scarf: Hitchcock Madrona; Earrings: Xenia Mara; Necklaces: Lulu Frost/ Dannijo/ Vintage

This year, we’re heading into fall with looks that pack a serious punch. Instead of easing into fall with a monochromatic attitude, we’re carrying color into our favorite season. From color-blocked hats and bags and festive cashmere, from Kelly Christy, Yestadt Millinery, and Hitchcock Madrona to 70s sexy, and Maleficent approved evil granny finds from our favorites at Dannijo and Lulu Frost we’re making our own fall story.

Just In: Lulu Frost ‘Tesserae’

Posted by & filed under Just In, Lulu Frost.

As usual, we are doing back flips over the pre-fall 2015 collection from Lulu Frost. The aptly named ‘Tesserae’ collection draws on Native American artwork, and the intricate and beautiful mosaic work of the early Greek and Roman Civilizations. Sophisticated color choices, right angles abound, and subtle bling (I know, I was shocked too) make this collection a winner. Margot and I took a trip to the Arboretum for an appropriately lush environment, to show off a few of the collections heavy hitters.lulu-braceletThe Petra Cuff is a stunning statement from this collection. Paired with a sexy dress, or a pair of jeans the muted, sophisticated colors and organic feel of the stones make this cuff incredibly versatile.

chokerFueling my obsession for collars, I gravitated to the Passages Necklace instantly. Sleek gold blocks, mimic the mosaic work on pieces like the Petra Cuff with just a touch of bling in classic Lulu form.

lulu-necklace-longThe Petra Tassel Necklace has to be easily the best layering piece in the collection. Here I paired it with my shield and two of our Twinkler Strands made by our girl, Hannah (I’m obsessed with both her and the necklaces), it also works well with a delicate lariat for a more casual layer or one of the shorter, statement pieces from the collection if you’re feeling extra bold.

bangles-luluSweet and spacey, the Terraced Bracelet is another favorite. Small enough to be easily worn with a grouping of bangle cuffs, or stacked against a thin metal and leather cuff this little guy is a keeper.

For more of the collection, stop by the store or email us for pictures and pricing inquiries. You won’t want to miss out on this collection, to be honest I’m wearing the Tassel Necklace as we speak, er-type. I think this bad boy is coming home with me.

Just In: Klements by Charlotte Allen

Posted by & filed under Just In, Klements, Uncategorized.

Our newest line of scarves is here! Klements is the creation of Charlotte Allen, a fashion print designer from England. Allen previously designed for Paul Smith and Matthew Williamson – she definitely knows her way around a print! The patterns are a mix of Allen’s hand drawings, paintings, and photographs. The final designs are digitally printed onto fine silks in Italy.
Allen’s inspiration for Klements is always wonderfully eclectic. For this Fall 2014 Narnia Collection everything from ancient decaying Persian rugs to polar bears, and 16th century door knockers to taxidermy were sited as inspiration. Doesn’t everyone want a silk scarf inspired by the frozen rainbows of the Antarctic and Roman statues? We do, we are blown away by these creations…

Just In: Eddie Borgo

Posted by & filed under Just In, Uncategorized.

You caught us! It is a RARE moment when the three of us are all dressed like ladies… Especially rare in lacy, summery, white dresses. We know, we are total sartorial geniuses – ha! The special occasion? Eddie Borgo’s amazing new collection. We are completely smitten. Borgo was inspired by Morocco this season: marjorelle blue, marigold, and deep red are set off by silver and rose gold. He didn’t include any yellow gold in this collection (Kate, our resident rose gold fiend, was thrilled), a bold move that we’re loving.

Borgo mixed tassels, bells, and Berber inspired shapes with his signature cone design and sleek aesthetic. Erica is wearing several of the silver pieces from the collection, including the newest jewelry category that we know of: the hand bracelet. It’s studded and glorious (and wearable!).

On Millie’s right hand she is wearing a stunning sunstone ring – a beautiful inky, dark blue that sparkles softly. A leather, cone buckle bracelet is layered next to a silver hinged bangle with sunstone cone details. On her left, she’s wearing a three finger chain ring and more silver bangle versions.

The glamorous Talitha Getty, in a dreamy caftan, comes to mind…

Kate, of course, jumped at the chance to wear all the rose gold pieces. Literally, all of the rose gold pieces (not pictured: the tassel earrings and the bell earrings).

The earrings in this collection are so, so cool. In Erica’s first piercing is a pavé, fez hat inspired, pair. The pair in her second piercing are set with sunstone.

These days it seems like no collection is complete without an ear cuff, and this one is AMAZING. It is actually quite comfortable too, something we cannot say about every ear cuff… In Millie’s first piercing are the marigold enamel cones – the perfect mix of tough and sweet.

Striking stacking rings in beautiful Tuareg shapes. The cone bracelet, a forever Hitchcock Classic, is layered with a newer style of hinged cone bangle.

Have you been transported to Marrakesh yet? We sure have.

Just In: Dannijo Boxerina

Posted by & filed under Just In, Uncategorized.

Dannijo’s Boxerina collection is here! We are thrilled: chain details, vibrant stones, delicate pearls, asymmetry, and lots and lots of chunky silver. There are serious armor-like bibs and cuffs, and more delicate rhinestone laced pieces. This collection is just plain cool – after all, it is Dannijo. Grab a glass of bubbles and join us!

One statement necklace? No thanks, I’ll take three. Layered on top is the Evangeline Necklace (clear baguette rhinestones set off the bold yellow and green), next is the Whistler Necklace (cool toned rhinestones and oxidized chain), and underneath it all is the Guthrie Necklace (big, bad, bold silver with subtle rhinestones).

Boxerina is total edgy elegance, a little bit tribal, and beyond bold. It may be our favorite collection from Dannijo so far.

The Whistler Necklace and the Guthrie Necklace.

Has elegant ever been more badass?! Vivid colors and tough chain make up the Cayden Necklace.

The Tamara Bracelet has a punchy green center stone (layered with the rose gold Railroad Spike Cuff by Giles & Brother) while the other cuff gives serious edge with layers of oxidized chain and rhinestones.

Don’t let the statement necklaces detract you from the earrings in this collection… they are stunning. The evil-like, dark stones of the Monaco perfectly juxtapose the classic shape – genius. The dangling rhinestone earrings have a chic pearl stud, and although you can’t tell from this photo they are ASYMMETRICAL – love it!

Canyon Agate AG1248-S

These gorgeous scarves from Weston Earth Images are totally giving us life. Actually, the phrase “giving us life” is really giving us life but the scarves are pretty damn good too (and p.s. I did give someone life so I know what that phrase ACTUALLY means, and it is no small potatoes, my friend). Anyway, the scarves! They are the most beautiful silk and linen fabrics, with vivid gemstone prints. They are conceptually genius and the execution is flawless.

Each of these beautiful prints is an actual (extremely closeup) photograph of a mineral, stone, or fossil. Richard Weston, the Creative Director of Weston Earth Images, has harnessed the advancements of digital technology and created something so special, and wearable! We feel lucky to be able to offer these scarves (pieces of art) at Hitchcock Madrona.

As you can see, Weston captures the minute details in each gemstone. These scarves are mind blowing in that they are direct reproductions of objects found in nature.

We have these scarves in linen and silk. Think of these as more than just scarves: The silk could be draped into a skirt, and the linen would make for a fantastic beach coverup!

“I’m sorry, but when it comes to creativity man comes a poor second to nature, and, in fact, a lot of human creativity is drawn from – some would say copied from, others inspired by – nature.” – Richard Weston
