Halloween: Marie Antoinette

Posted by & filed under Eddie Borgo, Halloween, Inspiration, Iosselliani, Lulu Frost, Vintage.

A fashionista queen know for her revolutionary style – Marie Antoinette is an obvious choice for my final Halloween look.  We were inspired by the faux rustic farm that Marie had built at Versailles, sometimes a girl just needs to get away from it all and frolic in the fields in a ballgown and some sick jewels!

Any working mom (or at least the one’s I associate with!) will tell you…. “Let them eat prepackaged cupcakes!”  Marie Antoinette, part sheltered teenager and part delusional queen.  Gotta love her!

Bracelets:  Xenia Mara layered crystal and vintage chain cuff, Lulu Frost rhinestone sunburst bracelet (right hand).  Eddie Borgo yellow gold pyrimid bracelet and Iosselliani fall 2016 rhinestone bracelet (left hand).

Rings: Hitchcock Madrona vintage inspired cocktail rings.  Limited edition.

Earrings: Xenia Mara vintage chain and rock crystal sparklers

Yes queen!  Iosselliani rhinestone statement necklace as crown.

Necklaces: Xenia Mara double row rock crystal spikes.  Love this necklace – it is organic, tough, wearable and a bit magical.  If you don’t have a rock crystal piece in your jewelry wardrobe consider one.  I wear mine constantly!marie8This is the Deception Pass bridge in Washington State. It is (I fact checked this!) 180 feet tall and was built in 1935.  Hardly any of the bridge pictures were usable because I was so scared!  Melissa Baerwald my amazing friend and photographer kept telling me to relax but that wasn’t happening.  In fact, it was so scary that when I tried to go to sleep that night I couldn’t – my mind had me falling off the edge!  A little too close to poor Marie’s date with the guillotine for my taste!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween: Madonna “Like a Virgin”

Posted by & filed under Eddie Borgo, Fall Collections, Halloween, Inspiration, Iosselliani, Xenia Mara.

Who doesn’t want to be Madonna?  What’s your version?  Mine is “Like a Virgin” Madonna.  Forever ingrained in my brain….. This was my first album, tape, actually.  A 5th birthday gift, along with a “boom box” and Michael Jackson’s Thriller.  Not bad, right?  1983 was a good year.  Still have the cassette player (somewhere at my parents house) and still listen to these albums.  They have stood the test of time!

Bracelets: Lulu Frost rhinestone sunburst, Eddie Borgo yellow gold pyramid, and Xenia Mara bronze and rock crystal cuff.  All amazing alone or layered.

Dressed up in all my loves (Iosselliani, Eddie Borgo, Xenia Mara, Lulu Frost, and Jennifer Behr) and letting my inner Material Girl run wild!

guk5ajken59abnkrku7t56nphv-vkdpxhlfgvknl3iuIosselliani asymmetrical rhinestone necklace – love this piece!  It is delicate but packs a punch.  The whimsy of the random/asymmetrical crystals are perfect to take it away from stuffy.

hdi7uxwlp7pfmz7rzw42vwkmj8xcpxbmyho_egauzwqJennifer Behr rhinestone barrette used as a broach.   Bracelets (right hand): faux pearls (costume store), Iosselliani rhinestone and gold plated bracelet, Eddie Borgo yellow gold pyramid bracelet.

1jo9xfvf6r8rsrcf-iik5eq7ig5bcwnlrpbap15shhyIosselliani cluster rhinestone ring.  Obsessed!  These vintage looking rings are fused together – looks like you raided your grandmother’s jewelry box and wore them all.

Go ahead, find your Madonna and express yourself!

Jewelry Contradictions and Life’s Little Subversion

Posted by & filed under Hitchcock Madrona Signature, Iosselliani, Loren Stewart, Lulu Frost, MOSCOT, OOTD, Uncategorized, Vintage.

Spring is in full bloom here in Seattle, and Team Hitchcock is taking a no holds barred approach to vivid color, and soft pastels. This week, Erica talks to us about color and contradiction, her love of Doritos, and how to expertly pair your earthy beads with some serious Heavy Metal for a day of errands in her OOTD. Simple, right?

There is nothing I enjoy more when getting dressed than to mix seemingly contradictory styles.  Wearing cooky clothing is my life’s little subversion *cackles* well, that and devouring spicy nacho Doritos. But, I digress. In this post my sole aim is to to illustrate one major “lesson” in personal style. Balance in contradiction, is a mantra I find myself repeating whilst meditating over my morning latte. Your contradiction may not be as extreme or thematic as mine (dramatic? me?) but don’t shy from mixing pieces that you normally wouldn’t. Experiment with color combinations, mix metals, combine designer with thrift.  But, and this is key, execute it in a way that is planned.  Balance your choices and leave everything else clean and simple.

We start with these delicate layers of colorful, vintage beads set to frame and balance this angry, angular pendant by IOSSELLIANI.  The multiple strands of cobalt, translucent pink, white and gold beads dance around the structured armor of the Italian bling.  IOSSELLIANI continues to amaze us with show-stopping jewels that are a fashion plate’s secret weapon.  Who wouldn’t be impressed by this slightly tribal stunner? Take your edgy pieces, and soften them for a sunny, summer brunch or Happy Hour with the girls. Throw on your frayed denim shorts, a white t-shirt (I know – so cliche!), these two necklaces and a fab pair of this season’s shoe du jour – the flat gladiator sandal.

To keep the balance, make sure your rings and bracelets make an appearance. Tying in our themes of earthy with edgy, a grey Hitchcock Madrona Druzy is always welcome feature in my wardrobe. The perfect neutral compliment for any season, and it compliments my hair-I’m definitely a fan.

Lulu Frost Scarab Earrings

Lulu Frost’s Scarab Family Earrings from the Spring Collection were the perfect touch of whimsy for the look. While I am a fan of the rules, I’m always a fan of turning them on their heads. Maybe it’s the rush of Vitamin D, or the flowers in bloom but I’m certainly feeling playful in all corners of my life. I see no reason for my outfit to be anything less than representative of how I feel, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

Halloween 2014: The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo

Posted by & filed under Iosselliani, MOSCOT, Pamela Love, Uncategorized, Yestadt Millinery.

“Armageddon was yesterday, today we have a serious problem.”

Look out Lisbeth Salander, Team Hitchcock Madrona is looking pierced, tattooed, and punk enough to take on any dangerous mission. We might be lacking in the computer hacking skills department (is Mercury still in retrograde? Can we blame it on that?) but we’re making up for it in spades with the fiercest jewels and accessories around.

Railroad Spike necklace by Giles & Brother, Safety Pin necklace by Giles & Brother, crystal and stud cuff by Tom Binns, Jumbo Hinged Railroad Spike cuff by Giles & Brother, Large Link gold bracelet by Hitchcock Madrona, gold midi ring by Hitchcock Madrona.

This hat by Kelly Christy is the perfectly subtle, witchy touch. The Loren Stewart Shapeshifter necklace has never been more punk: Millie is wearing it attached to her earring and nose ring!!! We think Lisbeth would be more than proud.

“She was perfectly content as long as people left her in peace.”

Ruby “Twinkler” necklace by Hitchcock Madrona, Panther bracelet by Iosselliani, gold and rose gold rings by Catbird, Hitchcock Madrona, and Loren Stewart.

Eddie Borgo ear cuff worn as nose ring, Eddie Borgo reversible pave pyramid earrings.

Gold shield by Hitchcock Madrona, gold tone Goddess necklace by Xenia Mara, cast bullet necklace by Unearthen.

Rose gold Mignon ring by Catbird (on thumb), rose gold Mini ID ring by Loren Stewart.

Crystal Quartz bullet necklace by Unearthen on silver wheat chain.

“You already have loads of tattoos. Are you sure you want another one?”

Silver Sharktooth cuff by Hitchcock Madrona, gold rings by Catbird and Loren Stewart.

We wore our fake tattoos for the rest of the day in the store and some of our clients (and even close friends) thought they were real!

Happy Halloween!

Be safe and spooky tonight!

Outfit Of The Day: Feline Meow

Posted by & filed under Iosselliani, OOTD, Uncategorized.

We love us a good graffiti wall. If you are a frequent reader you will notice that I own this dress in two different colors. It is so comfortable and easy to style with a t-shirt, blazer and even a short skirt over it.

Amazing IOSSELLIANI bracelet in reds and pinks (a favorite color combination). This is light but a powerful statement. The tiny gold chain ring is Catbird – another favorite of mine, so perfect layered or on its own.

Necklaces: Large Pearl collar from ebay, rhinestone and pearl necklace by Tom Binns, Pyrite bullet necklace by UNEARTHEN, double strand “drunken” pearls by Hitchcock Madrona, and painted pearls by my three year old son.

We hope everyone is enjoying their summer!

Outfit of the Day: Back in Seattle….

Posted by & filed under Iosselliani, Kelly Christy, Lulu Frost, OOTD, Uncategorized.

I am back after being away for a week and a half.  How did I live without my Hitchcock family for that long? I don’t know…..  After being in California, Seattle is a bit of a let down, although the sun has been making an appearance this week.  People are out and about and spring breaks are happening all over the city.

Now is the perfect time to invest in a summer hat.  We have this fedora style in many colors: natural, ocher, navy and black.  You can pick your ribbon color and wear it all spring and summer (I plan too!).

Even though the weather is looking up you can still wear your heavier statement necklaces.  This stunner by Subversive Jewelry is black onyx, horn, shell, and miscellaneous vintage beads.  It is constructed with leather cord.  I also layered it with my vintage turquoise strands and pearls….always pearls.

Neo Equine Cuff by Lulu Frost – the perfect day bling.  Rings by IOSSELLIANI – a snake (index) and panther (middle).

Outfit Of The Day: Baseball Caps and Cutoffs

Posted by & filed under Hitchcock Madrona Signature, Iosselliani, Loren Stewart, MOSCOT, OOTD, Tiffany Kunz.

I’ve always been a sucker for a high fashion piece paired with basic Americana inspired clothing. When the sun decided to make an appearance I couldn’t resist wearing my Yohji Yamamoto vest with vintage Levi’s cutoffs. It’s a ridiculously perfect combination, purely for the contrast.

Moscot’s “Lemtosh” sunglasses are the perfect combination of cool and classic especially with the tortoise frames. Eddie Borgo cones and Tiffany Kunz hoops are simple, sleek, and modern. I love wearing a larger earring in my second piercing with a basic stud in the first.

Hitchcock Madrona brass and leather cuff and Eddie Borgo hinged ring in rose gold.

Please excuse my (lack of) manicure, though it is hard to notice with so much delicious bling in this picture. Eddie Borgo’s hinged ring is not only gorgeous to look at, it is the most comfortable piece of hardware EVER! The true star is this Iosselliani crystal and chain collar. There is a hint of rose gold on the studs. I wish I never had to take it off!

The beauty of a casual look is the freedom you have with accessories, the options are endless! How do you plan on spicing up your casual Spring outfits?

Outfit Of The Day: When The Cat’s Away, The Mice Wear Bibs

Posted by & filed under Iosselliani, OOTD.

Hi, Kate and Millie here! Erica is vacationing in Santa Barbara (jealous!) for the week, but don’t worry, we are here at Hitchcock to help with all your jewelry needs. It is full on Spring mode around here (whether the weather is cooperating or not). We have so many gorgeous new collections in the store. The style of this season is, without a doubt, the bib necklace. We are LOVING this look! So much so that while the cat’s away, we (the mice) invaded the laundromat for a bib photo shoot!!!

Millie: Our bib obsession is growing by the day, this gold piece by Dannijo is no exception!

Millie: Statement earrings aren’t meant solely for ball gowns and fancy dress. I want to live my life in these Iosselliani stunners.

Millie: My bad boy attitude is channeled through my Moscot “Tummel” frames and Hitchcock Madrona cuff. I may even adopt a new nickname… How does Laundromat Lounger sound?

Kate: The marbled madness of this Dannijo bib is striking and the color palette is so me (black and white forever!).

Kate: So typical, my only pop of color is a red lip!

Kate: My rings are the usual suspects (Loren Stewart, Catbird, and Hitchcock Madrona). The bracelets are a mix of Eddie Borgo and Dannijo. I am so into the darkened chain that Dannijo is using in this collection. It is edgy and makes crystals a little more wearable for day.

Kate: These shoulder grazing silver hoops by Mariella Pilato are INSANE! They are light and subtly textured – so beautiful.

Come visit and “put a bib on it” with us!
