Let’s dust off the winter cobwebs and remove the layers of wool and flannel. We are ready for spring! Sunglasses – check. White pants – check. Bangle bracelets – check. Cool car that isn’t mine in the background – check. I have all the wardrobe markers for spring. It is a great time to channel your inner Iris Apfel and pile on the bracelets and tribal prints. Color is now acceptable. Thank you, sunshine. I will take YELLOW!
My outfit centers around my beloved Lulu Frost “LEO” necklace. I always feel quite ferocious when I wear this piece (can you tell why?). That is exactly how a leo likes to feel – powerful and in charge.
My first layer is the tiny 18k gold skull and crossbones necklace by Hitchcock Madrona (one-of-kind). This little guy has diamond eyes which are so enchanting. I also threw on a Tom Binns rhinestone jumble necklace. It is almost time to unveil the Tom Binns Spring order. Whoo hoo!
Yellow vintage resin bangle (we have all colors) with fabric and wood bracelet by Lulu Frost. Again, channel your favorite octogenarian or high school art teacher and pile on the bangles. We always stock up for this time of year. Wood or resin (or a combo) reign supreme in spring.
I love this ring combo: Delicate gold band, tiny diamond eternity band and diamond and sterling signet all by Hitchcock Madrona.
Before I start listing the outfit credits and explaining the reaction my head piece got at the event, I want to thank our good friend and client Heather (I didn’t ask to use her name so I will only use her first name) for inviting us to the annual Seattle Make-A-Wish Foundation live auction. We have happily donated for several years through Heather, and this year her and her husband hosted us at their table. Because they are amazing people, so were their friends and colleagues. We had a lovely time!
Here is a close up of the malachite, lapis and sterling silver cocktail ring by Wouters & Hendrix. This is such a great piece for spring into summer. A big ring is so easy to wear but dresses up any outfit. I love this amazing acrylic clutch by Ashlyn’d. It is so complex and beautiful. The sides are clear so you can see the chic contents of your evening bag – phone, lipstick, ID and mints!
The show stopper (of course) was this full rhinestone head piece designed by Jennifer Behr. How beautiful is this??? I am so obsessed. The earrings are green onyx and opal dangles by Xenia Mara.
A Hitchcock Madrona pocket square made in Italy is Dustin’s final touch!
If you are wondering if we bought an African Safari, hot air balloon ride, or 28 bottles of wine…..the answer is no. We made our donation, tried our hand at the raffle and walked away happy. Life is adventure enough for us and wine doesn’t get drank at my house anymore (I’m in bed too early)!
Spikes, shafts, rods, spears, bars – call them what you will, they are dangerous and elegant. Each piece in the collection (we have earrings, bracelets, and necklaces!) is handmade by house jeweler extraordinaire Petrus Korver. We designed these to layer perfectly with your beloved Hitchcock shield necklace or diamond dot. A must have in your fine jewelry (with an edge!) collection.
Handmade 18K gold rod earrings. These come in two sizes. 1″ (as seen above) and 1/2″. Or, you can wear one of each!
Handmade 18k gold bar necklaces on oxidized sterling silver chain. We also have a golden rod bracelet!
These can be worn 24/7 with delicate layers you already own (or WANT to own). A layering dream! Come try one on for size.
I am back after being away for a week and a half. How did I live without my Hitchcock family for that long? I don’t know….. After being in California, Seattle is a bit of a let down, although the sun has been making an appearance this week. People are out and about and spring breaks are happening all over the city.
Now is the perfect time to invest in a summer hat. We have this fedora style in many colors: natural, ocher, navy and black. You can pick your ribbon color and wear it all spring and summer (I plan too!).
Even though the weather is looking up you can still wear your heavier statement necklaces. This stunner by Subversive Jewelry is black onyx, horn, shell, and miscellaneous vintage beads. It is constructed with leather cord. I also layered it with my vintage turquoise strands and pearls….always pearls.
Neo Equine Cuff by Lulu Frost – the perfect day bling. Rings by IOSSELLIANI – a snake (index) and panther (middle).
Are you familiar with the survival bracelet? It is a practical accessory, made of parachute cord that can hold up to 550 lbs, usually reserved for serious hikers. It also happens to be the inspiration for our newest jewelry artist: Iko Ino.
Designer Mariko Makino incorporates gold chains and chunky hardware with parachute cord and leather to bring each necklace to life. Handmade in New York City, all Iko Ino pieces are made of materials sourced from the United States and Japan.
Millie has been a fan of Iko Ino for sometime now… She is obsessed with her Sensi Star necklace (second necklace layered). She rocks it regularly, the gold-plated chain pops between the black and white cord – so chic!
The Acapulco Gold necklace (first necklace layered) is a seriously solid 4 feet of gold-plated chain. *SWOON*
We are thrilled to have Iko Ino at Hitchcock Madrona, the tough-luxe aesthetic always speaks to us!
Hitchcock Madrona will be closed Sunday, April 20th.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
I’ve always been a sucker for a high fashion piece paired with basic Americana inspired clothing. When the sun decided to make an appearance I couldn’t resist wearing my Yohji Yamamoto vest with vintage Levi’s cutoffs. It’s a ridiculously perfect combination, purely for the contrast.
Moscot’s “Lemtosh” sunglasses are the perfect combination of cool and classic especially with the tortoise frames. Eddie Borgo cones and Tiffany Kunz hoops are simple, sleek, and modern. I love wearing a larger earring in my second piercing with a basic stud in the first.
Hitchcock Madrona brass and leather cuff and Eddie Borgo hinged ring in rose gold.
Please excuse my (lack of) manicure, though it is hard to notice with so much delicious bling in this picture. Eddie Borgo’s hinged ring is not only gorgeous to look at, it is the most comfortable piece of hardware EVER! The true star is this Iosselliani crystal and chain collar. There is a hint of rose gold on the studs. I wish I never had to take it off!
The beauty of a casual look is the freedom you have with accessories, the options are endless! How do you plan on spicing up your casual Spring outfits?
Unearthen has been a Hitchcock staple for some time now. The raw materials and beautiful detail are impressive in quality and character. We are delighted to announce the arrival of Unearthen for Spring 2014!
From sleek and shiny Titanium Quartz to chunky Rock Crystal, Unearthen’s signature bullet shape never fails to disappoint.
Unearthen designs are always the perfect mix of edgy and luxe.
These pieces are one-of-a-kind due to each unique crystal formation. Perfect worn alone or layered – this style really lends beautifully to layering (we love it peeking through a Xenia Mara goddess necklace and a million other ways of course!).
Cast and pyrite versions.
As you can see, we have a wide selection of bullet necklaces in right now. These beauties tend to fly out of the store so visit soon for the most options!
Hi, Kate and Millie here! Erica is vacationing in Santa Barbara (jealous!) for the week, but don’t worry, we are here at Hitchcock to help with all your jewelry needs. It is full on Spring mode around here (whether the weather is cooperating or not). We have so many gorgeous new collections in the store. The style of this season is, without a doubt, the bib necklace. We are LOVING this look! So much so that while the cat’s away, we (the mice) invaded the laundromat for a bib photo shoot!!!
Millie: Our bib obsession is growing by the day, this gold piece by Dannijo is no exception!
Millie: Statement earrings aren’t meant solely for ball gowns and fancy dress. I want to live my life in these Iosselliani stunners.
Millie: My bad boy attitude is channeled through my Moscot “Tummel” frames and Hitchcock Madrona cuff. I may even adopt a new nickname… How does Laundromat Lounger sound?
Kate: The marbled madness of this Dannijo bib is striking and the color palette is so me (black and white forever!).
Kate: So typical, my only pop of color is a red lip!
Kate: My rings are the usual suspects (Loren Stewart, Catbird, and Hitchcock Madrona). The bracelets are a mix of Eddie Borgo and Dannijo. I am so into the darkened chain that Dannijo is using in this collection. It is edgy and makes crystals a little more wearable for day.
Kate: These shoulder grazing silver hoops by Mariella Pilato are INSANE! They are light and subtly textured – so beautiful.
Come visit and “put a bib on it” with us!
Kate & Millie
The darlings of the jewelry world have stolen our hearts once again. Dannijo absolutely kills it with their new Spring 2014 collection. From the marbled Max bib to the stunning emerald green and crystal bling of the Izzie necklace. We are absolutely swooning. So, take a journey into the depths of the Hitchcock Madrona fridge with us, and check out the juicy details Dannijo has to offer.
Edgy sterling silver hoops, and blackened chains with pops of white and crystal highlight this collection.
The heavy dark chains offer the perfect backdrop for classic, feminine, and earthy details.
The sheer beauty (and bling!) of these pieces is amazing. We just want to throw on our favorite bib necklace and tear up the town! Come in and visit to see the rest of the collection. We hope you love it as much as we do!
