Another day, another costume! It’s the witching hour here at Hitchcock Madrona and we are trading pointy hats for dramatic Kelly Christy fedoras. I’ll take two! I had the best time exercising my long-out-of-practice skills in the art of the make-up application. Kate could barely see out of those lace eye lashes but actually wore them the whole day. She thinks maybe she is a reincarnated drag queen. If only we were so lucky.
We got these amazing skulls from Brooklyn jewelry designer Venessa Arizaga (and perennial HM favorite). She created them for showroom displays and everyone wanted one. We picked up a few with our last order. What a perfect time to introduce them!
Kate is working Kelly’s version of the amazing black hat that walked down the YSL runway last fall. The PERFECT exaggerated fedora/floppy hat! If you didn’t have $1,300 burning a hole in your pocket, like us, come get our version. It is outrageous and witchy wonderful.
How creepy is this picture?
Fabulous photos and location scouting by Dustin. We were covered in spiders and spider webs after this shoot but it was well worth it! Happy Halloween!
Fancy witches featuring Eddie Borgo and IOSSELLIANI. Black and gold is such an amazing color combination.
Scarab necklace and ring by Eddie Borgo – whose hand is that???

Confession: We are obsessed with Halloween this year. Our back room is overflowing with glittery fake eyelashes, colored hair sprays, and lots of costume changes – too much fun! This Sunday we got dolled up as Ice Queens since we are surrounded with so much bling. So, thrilled to take advice from Ben Barry (Matthew Mcconaughey in How to Loose a Guy in 10 Days), we “frosted” ourselves and dripping in every icy jewel we could get our hands on (which is a LOT if you hadn’t noticed) we ventured out to the streets of Madrona. Here is what we caught on camera:
Erica in a vintage coat and piles of Hitchcock pearls, vintage treasures, an Xenia Mara bracelet, and several Hitchcock cocktail and engagement rings.
One of our beautiful new Christine Chaney coats and a Polly Hitt necklace mixed in with random vintage necklaces.
Vintage shoe buckle brooch as a hair pin and two of our Hitchcock engagement rings (sapphire and diamond!).
Hitchcock Madrona sterling silver white druzy ring, Tom Binns pearl and crystal ring, and a fabulous Lulu Frost vintage shoe buckle bracelet.
The pearl-y details. YES please!
Happy celebrating this week! You know we will be…

Merrium Webster defines supernova as “the explosion of a star in which the star may reach a maximum intrinsic luminosity one billion times that of the sun”… Just a few pieces from this collection, a swipe of gloss and you will be shining brighter than the sun this holiday, who doesn’t want that!?

Cashmere scarves are here! I was loving this pumpkin and ocher wrap this summer (I know, I still have summer outfits to post!). Since it is straight up fall (pumpkin patch visits are happening), here at Hitchcock Madrona we are finally featuring our luxurious cashmere scarves. Every year we design a collection of large, sumptuous, cashmere scarves. They are so soft and warm (without being bulky). As you can see I even rocked this scarf with shorts! A great investment for yourself or a wonderful gift idea for someone you love.

Gold and white druzy ring by Hitchcock Madrona.
If you live in a climate like ours, layering is always key. Scarves are essential! Visit soon and check out our selection of cashmere scarves for fall.
The Barbour Cartridge bag is a perfect little bag for when you are OVER carrying around your life in your Olsen twin/extra large bags. It comes in canvas (pictured) waxed cotton and leather.
Hitchcock Madrona double wrap and sterling silver bracelet. Simple, chic and so easy to wear.
Hitchcock Madrona blue topaz cocktail ring.
The Eddie Borgo large link Supra necklace is as close to perfection as any one necklace can be. Pardon the dramatics but I love love love it! We have one in stock right now! Come try it on!
Piles and piles of necklaces today! We have some nice weather and I am enjoying the crisp fall air and blue skies (for now). Fall is going to be hitting the shop in full force next week with coats by Christine Chaney. Can’t wait!
Xenia Mara copper circles, vintage pearls, and steel and pearl necklace by Surplus. I have on my wedding necklace (diamond and sapphire) along with a charm for my son and a gold shield ready to be monogrammed. Italian made pocket square as a pop of color on my suspender.
On my right hand I have a vintage wood bangle (delicate gold band on my ring finger). My left hand is featuring a Lulu Frost 100 year shoe buckle. We have three versions in stock – all are spectacular. Perfect for a winter wedding or holiday party.
These IOSSELLIANI stacking rings are a modern classic. They are so comfortable, such a rich statement for every occasion. Stacked all on one finger they pack a beautiful punch but they are also lovely sprinkled throughout your other rings. Lots of options, love it!
Dealing with seasonal transitions are always complex. Well, (reality check) complex is a relative term. We all know there are many more complicated things in the world: geometry, curing malaria, the human genome, Brad and Angalina’s travel schedule. Now those are complicated! Back to the subject at hand – how does one dress in a transitional season? Summer is still holding on in Seattle but it can change on a dime. Any Seattleite knows that layers are your friend. Who doesn’t love the opportunity to wear a scarf, hat and three coats nine months of the year?
Have you picked your Moscot frames yet? Today I am wearing the Lemtosh in blonde – this frame and color looks great on everyone! It’s crazy – men, women, young, old, dogs, cats. Everyone!
Our Hitchcock Madrona cotton scarves are genius for this time of year. They have the loft to protect against a drizzle but are not too warm. A little color and texture adds interest to any outfit. Our scarves are made locally from men’s shirting fabric. They are both feminine and masculine. Plaids, checks, stripes are what to expect for fall.
The jewelry in this post is Wooters & Hendrix all the way from Belgium. The colors are perfect for the summer/fall transition. They are not too dark and brooding but have some weight to them. The malachite and lapis ring is my favorite in the collection. So beautiful.
Despite the stormy weather we had a wonderful trunk show of Xenia Mara Designs this past Saturday! Thank you to all who braved the wind, rain, and power outages to come to our event! Xenia has a beautiful collection this Fall and we still have many of her stunning pieces here at Hitchcock. Stop by the store to glimpse her gorgeous new goodies (including fabulous new styles from her Precious Collection – think raw diamonds and white rubies!).
